sprunki phase 14 but alive
Sprunki Phase 14 "But Alive" - Because Apparently We Needed TWO "Alive" Versions
Okay so there's Phase 14 Alive (see above, I just wrote about it) and then there's Phase 14 BUT Alive. What's the difference? Honestly? I'm not entirely sure and I tried to explain Sprunki lore to someone. They walked away. Can't blame them.
But as someone who's "寻找创作灵感的业余爱好者" (that's "looking for creative inspiration amateur enthusiast" for those who don't speak Google Translate), I appreciate having options. The graphical glitch when you drag too fast looks cool actually. It's like the game is saying "whoa slow down there buddy, we're making ART here."
First glance - looks familiar but... different? Maybe?
Rhythm training? Hah! This sounds like a robot trying to beatbox after dental surgery. But in a good way! Actually though, if you pay attention to how the sounds layer, you can kind of develop a sense of timing. It's not like practicing with a metronome, but it's better than nothing?
Visual customization? My review style has evolved from "professional" to "tired but committed." There's no real customization. What you see is what you get. But the characters have more personality in this version, I think? Or maybe I'm imagining things because I've been staring at Sprunki screens for too long.
The colors seem slightly different than the other "alive" version. Or do they?
For background music - this is actually perfect. The sounds aren't too intrusive. You can make something that just... sits there in the background while you do other things. My breathing has synced with the rhythm. I'm becoming one with the blob. (Yes I used this one before but it fits here too, fight me.)
What I like about the "but alive" version versus just "alive" - there's a certain... I don't know, roughness? Not in a bad way. Like it feels more handmade. The sounds have more character. Or maybe I'm just trying to justify why there are two nearly identical games with slightly different names.
Building up the sounds. Each one adds something unique.
Exploration is key here. Don't just stick to the same icons you always use. Try the weird one in the corner. The one that looks like a melted candy. It might make a sound that changes everything.
Honestly? Phase 14 But Alive and Phase 14 Alive could probably be the same game and no one would notice. But I'm glad they're not. Variety is the spice of life, even if that variety is extremely minor and possibly imaginary.
Try them both. See which one speaks to you. Or don't. It's just a game about clicking colorful blobs that make noise. But sometimes that's exactly what you need.
