incredibox sprunki phase 2.7 definitive
So This Is Phase 2.7 "Definitive"... What Even Changed?
Okay, so I finally got around to trying the Phase 2.7 Definitive version. You know how it is - there's like 50 different "definitive" versions of every Sprunki phase floating around, right? But my friend Alex kept bugging me about this one, saying it fixed that weird audio crackle in the blue robot voice that always made my headphones sound broken.
And... he was kinda right? The sounds do feel cleaner. Less like you're listening through a tin can telephone. But honestly, if you've played the original Phase 2.7, you're not missing some revolutionary new feature here. It's more like... someone went in with a digital cloth and dusted everything off.
Q: Is it worth playing if you already know Phase 2.7 by heart?
A: Only if you're a completionist or that one crackling sound genuinely annoyed you as much as it annoyed Alex. Otherwise, your time might be better spent with something like Pyramixed 0.9 if you want actual new stuff.
The Icons & That One Weird One
The layout's the same. You've got your usual cast - the beanie guy, the green... thing, the yellow orb. All present and accounted for. The visuals are slightly brighter? Or maybe my screen settings are off today. The weather's been grey all week, so everything looks different.
Personal bias incoming: I still think the rocket ship icon sounds utterly ridiculous. It's like a kazoo having an identity crisis. But that's the charm, I guess? My roommate loves it, says it's the "heartbeat" of his mixes. We agree to disagree.
I tried to use only 3 icons to make something. Picked the deep bass, the hat-tapping rhythm, and the weird echo-y synth. Got something that vaguely reminded me of an old modem connecting to the internet... in a good way? Sort of? It was ambient, at least.
Step 1: Drag the bass guy to the middle.
Step 2: Add the tappy hat sound on the left.
Step 3: Sprinkle the synth ghost on the right.
Listen. Does it sound cool or just chaotic? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What's the Deal with "Definitive" Anyway?
I looked it up. Seems like the "definitive" tag gets slapped on when a modder decides they're done tweaking a version. No more updates, this is it, the final form. It gives a sense of... closure, maybe? Unlike some other mods that promise big updates every month and then vanish. *cough* not naming names *cough*
I wonder if the guy who made this is done with Sprunki modding for good, or if they've moved on to Phase 3 or 4 stuff. The scene moves fast.
Oh, and about the audio quality - can you adjust the BPM in this one? I don't think so. You're stuck with the default tempo, which is fine for most things but makes it hard to match with other tracks if you're trying to get fancy (not that I do that... often).
Fail experiment: Tried to make it sound like a cat walking on a piano. Results were less "jazz feline" and more "broken keyboard." Steps lost to history, thankfully.
Final thoughts? It's solid. A 3.5 out of 5. It does what it says - it's a cleaned-up, finished version of a classic mod. No fireworks, but no nasty surprises either. Like a reliable pair of shoes. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go see what the fuss about Phase 6 Remastered Part 4 is all about... that title alone is a journey.
