Talking Wenda Sprunki: Because Everyone Loves Wenda, Right?
So apparently Wenda is A Thing in the Sprunki world. I didn''t know this until my cousin''s kid, who is way too online for a 12-year-old, told me "Wenda is the best character, obviously" with the confidence of someone stating that water is wet. Okay then. Here we are.
This version is… different. Less about making a full musical track, more about making Wenda do things. Talk. Make sounds. There''s a whole meme ecosystem around this character that I am barely scratching the surface of, and honestly? I''m kind of okay staying in the shallow end.
How It Works (I Think)
You click on Wenda. She makes a sound. You click on other things around her. More sounds. Sometimes she talks? There are phrases that pop up. I got "Bloop!" and "Hey!" and something that sounded like "Sprunk-i-fied?" Maybe.
It reminds me of those old Flash games where you click on a scene and things happen with no real goal. Just… interaction for interaction''s sake. Sometimes that''s all you need.
Q: Is this a game or a toy?
A: Yes.
Q: Can you actually make music with it?
A: Not in the traditional "beat" sense, no. But you can make a cacophony that has rhythm if you squint your ears.
Here''s the thing – I showed this to two different people. Person A (a musician friend) said "This is pointless noise-making." Person B (my aforementioned cousin''s kid) said "This is the best one because Wenda is iconic." So. Take from that what you will.
The "Wenda Treatment" Everyone Keeps Mentioning
I keep seeing "Wenda Treatment" in those keyword lists. I think it refers to different mods or versions where Wenda gets… special attention? This seems to be one of them. There''s apparently a whole Wenda Treatment 4.0 thing out there that people either love or think is overrated. I haven''t tried it. This one is enough for me.
What I like: The simplicity. No overthinking. Click. Sound. Click. Another sound. Sometimes Wenda''s face changes expression. It''s dumb in the best way.
What I don''t like: After about 3 minutes, I''d heard all the sounds. The novelty wears thin unless you''re really into this specific character. But hey, if you ARE really into Wenda, you probably already know about this and are playing it right now.
My Verdict
It''s fine. 2.5 out of 5 stars. Half a point extra for loading quickly and not having ads that pop up every 10 seconds.
Would I play it again? Only if someone paid me. Or if I was really, really bored. Or if I suddenly develop a deep fascination with Wenda lore, which seems unlikely but never say never.
Actually, you know what this is perfect for? Putting on your phone and handing to a restless kid in a waiting room. Or an adult who acts like a kid in a waiting room. Same thing.
— Played while drinking lukewarm coffee. The coffee was more memorable than the game, but that''s not saying much.
P.S. If you get all the sounds going at once, it creates a kind of chaotic ASMR that is either soothing or maddening. I can''t decide which. Try it and let me know. Or don''t. I''m not your boss.
