sprunki swap retextured phase 1.5 cancelled scratch
So They Cancelled This One, Huh? Sprunki Swap Phase 1.5 "Lost" Edition
Okay, real talk - I stumbled on this version completely by accident. Was looking for that "sprunki swap retextured" thing everyone's been whispering about in forums, and bam. Found this orphaned Phase 1.5 that apparently got the axe before anyone really got to play it. Makes you wonder why, right?
The weather's been weirdly gray today - perfect for digging up "lost media" like this. Feels appropriate.
What Even Is This Thing?
So from what I can piece together (and trust me, info is scarce), this was supposed to be a visual overhaul of the original Sprunki Swap. You know, new coats of paint on all the little dudes. But something happened around the 1.5 mark and... poof. Gone. Cancelled.
My friend Dave - who claims to know "a guy who knows a guy" - says there were licensing issues with some of the sound assets? Or maybe the developer just lost interest. Who knows. The internet forgets fast.
Q: Is it worth playing if you find it?
A: Depends. If you're a collector of weird digital artifacts, absolutely. If you just want to make cool beats... maybe stick with the finished stuff.
The "New" Old Sounds
Okay, so some of the sounds ARE different from the regular Swap. There's this one purple guy - I think he's supposed to be a retextured version of that popular blue character? - whose sound has this weird gurgle at the end. Almost like a coffee machine dying.
Personally, I hate it. It's jarring. But my sister says it's "textured." Art, man. Can't argue.
Actually, wait. Let me check... yeah, I think there are like 6 or 7 sound slots total? Maybe 8? I never actually counted properly because two of them seem to do almost the same thing. Quality control wasn't this version's strong suit, I guess.
Why Bother With Cancelled Stuff?
Look, here's my two cents: playing this feels like reading someone's abandoned diary. There's potential everywhere, but also half-baked ideas and dead ends. That green rocket character's animation glitches sometimes - just freezes mid-spin. Probably why it got canned.
It makes me think of my college roommate who'd start like five different art projects every semester and finish none of them. The energy was there! The execution... not so much.

Steps I tried to make something listenable:
1. Click the orange retextured dude (looks like a pumpkin?)
2. Drag the teal swirly thing to the middle
3. Add that weird gurgling purple guy I mentioned
4. Result? Sounded like a robot with indigestion. 2/5 stars.
Honestly, the rest of the icons you can figure out yourself. There's one that makes a noise like a creaky door which is kind of atmospheric? Maybe good for Halloween tracks. That's about it.
Today's verdict: Interesting historical curiosity. Not something I'd return to. Makes you appreciate the polished versions like Sprunki Pyramixed or even the standard Sprunki Swap more. Sometimes things get cancelled for a reason.
Wonder if the developer will ever revisit these ideas. Probably not. On to the next thing.
