sprunki phase 1.1 final update remix
Wait, Phase 1.1 FINAL Update Remix? How Many Versions Are There Anyway?
Okay so I stumbled on this thing called Sprunki Phase 1.1 Final Update Remix the other day. Honestly, at this point I've lost count of all the Sprunki versions - there's like Phase 3, Phase 4, Phase 9 definitive, Phase 57 scratch, Pyramixed, Retake... my brain hurts. But my friend who's obsessed with these kept telling me "no seriously, this 1.1 remix is actually worth checking out, it's got this one sound that's like... metallic rain?"
So I did. And you know what? It's kinda charming in a "this was probably made by someone in their bedroom at 3 AM" way.
What Even Is This Version?
Right, so if you're completely new to Sprunki (lucky you, less confusion), it's basically a music game where you drag little characters onto slots and they make sounds. Layer them up, get a beat going. Simple but weirdly addictive when you're avoiding work.
This Phase 1.1 Final Update Remix thing is... well, it says "final update" but we all know how that goes with fan games. Someone will probably release a "Phase 1.1 Final Final Update Remix Redux" next month. Anyway, it's basically the original Phase 1 but with... more stuff? Different sounds? Honestly the differences are subtle unless you've played the original like 50 times.
The characters look familiar but some have different colors. There's this blue one that makes a sound like a glitchy robot burp - that's new, I think? Or maybe it was always there and I just never used it...
My "Expert" Tips (I'm No Expert)
So I messed around for like 20 minutes trying to make something that doesn't sound like a washing machine having a panic attack. Here's what I sorta figured out:
1. Start with the character that looks like a green... blob? Actually maybe it's supposed to be a plant. It makes a steady-ish beat that doesn't overwhelm everything else.
2. Then add the yellow one - the one that sounds like someone tapping on a tin can. Don't ask me why it's yellow, Sprunki logic.
3. The purple character - this one's weird. It makes this high-pitched electronic sound that can either make your mix amazing or completely ruin it. Use sparingly, like musical hot sauce.
Actually you know what, just drag everything around randomly. That's half the fun. Today I somehow made something that vaguely resembled elevator music from a parallel universe. My cat seemed to approve, or maybe she was just judging me.
That One Thing About Sound Quality
Okay so full disclosure: some of the sounds in this version are... let's say "compressed." Like they were recorded through a potato. The brown character's sound in particular has this weird background hiss that I'm 80% sure wasn't intentional. But you know what? It adds character. Makes it feel homemade.
Or maybe my headphones are just bad. Could be that too.
Who Should Actually Play This?
Honestly? If you've never played ANY Sprunki before, maybe start with something more... polished? Like the original Phase 1 or something. But if you're like me and have played enough of these that you notice when a sound effect is 0.2 seconds longer than it should be, then yeah, give this remix a shot.
It's good for:
- Killing 15 minutes when you're waiting for something to download
- Trying to make a beat that sounds "retro" but you end up with chaos instead
- Impressing absolutely no one with your musical "skills"
Oh and if you're wondering "can I use this for actual music production?" Uh... no. Unless your genre is "experimental noise art" or "what my computer sounds like when it's dying."
Final Random Thoughts
This version feels like someone's passion project that got a bit out of hand. In a good way! Like they kept adding "one more thing" until they had to call it "final update" just to stop themselves.
The rain sound my friend mentioned? I think I found it. It's the gray character with the... actually I don't know what it's supposed to be. A cloud? A rock? Whatever, it does sound watery-ish. Not as good as actual rain sounds on YouTube, but hey, you can mix it with robot burps here, so that's something.
7/10 for effort, 5/10 for execution, but somehow that averages out to a 7/10 overall because the jankiness is part of the charm. Or maybe I've just played too many of these and my standards are broken.
Try it if you're bored. Or don't. There's like 500 other Sprunki versions to choose from anyway.
