make your sprunki!
Wait, This Isn't A Music Game?
So I clicked on "Make Your Sprunki!" expecting another sound mixer. You know, like the Phase 5 or whatever. But no. This is... a dress-up game.
An adorable, surprisingly detailed dress-up game for Sprunki characters.
My cat is trying to sit on my keyboard as I type this, which feels appropriate because this game is about as chaotic as that—but in a "choosing between 7 shades of blue" kind of way.
The 3AM Character Creation Rabbit Hole
I didn't plan to spend 45 minutes designing a Sprunki at 3am last night, but here we are. The options are... extensive? Overwhelming? Depends on your personality.
There are:
- 11 eye shapes (one looks suspiciously like it's judging you)
- 8 mouth options (including one that's just a straight line—mood)
- Hair styles that range from "normal" to "what anime is this from"
- Hats. So many hats. A crown, a beanie, a propeller hat (why?)
- Color pickers for EVERYTHING
I made a Sprunki that looks like it should be in a cyberpunk café. Purple hair with teal tips, glowing yellow eyes, a jacket that's probably leather (pixel leather). Gave it a little antenna headpiece because why not.
Then I made one that's just various shades of brown. Called it "Coffee Stain Sprunki." I might need sleep.
Important Questions Nobody Asked
Q: Can you actually make music with your creation?
A: Doesn't seem like it? I think this is purely visual. Like a Sprunki paper doll situation. Which is fine! Not every fan game needs to be about sound. Sometimes you just want to make a little guy with a cool hat.
Q: Is this related to those "sprunki oc" things people talk about?
A: YES. This feels like the tool those people wish they had. Instead of drawing their original Sprunki character ("OC" for the olds like me), they can just... drag and drop here.
My friend who's way too into character design would love this. She'd spend hours making "lore" for each one. "This Sprunki works in a library and hums while shelving books." Okay, Jan.
If You're Bored and Artistic (Or Think You Are)
Here's my completely unscientific guide to making a "good" Sprunki:
1. Start with a color scheme. Don't just pick random colors. Or do! It's your digital abomination.
2. The eyes are key. They give personality. Goofy eyes = funny Sprunki. Narrow eyes = mysterious Sprunki.
3. Accessories should tell a story. Why does your Sprunki have a backpack? Where is it going? (Now I'm doing the lore thing. Help.)
4. Save your creation! I think you can screenshot it? There's no export button that I saw, but Print Screen exists.
Weird discovery: If you pick the rainbow gradient option for hair and then choose the "spiky" style, it looks like a pride flag exploded. In a good way.
How This Compares to Actual Music Games
It doesn't. At all.
If you came here from searching "sprunki game" expecting beats, go play Phase 10 definitive or that Sprunki Retake mod everyone's talking about.
If you searched "make your own sprunki" or "sprunki oc maker"—congrats, you found the exact thing. It's niche. It's specific. It's for that particular itch of "I want to design a little guy with no practical purpose."
Which, honestly? Valid. Sometimes you don't want to make music. Sometimes you want to decide if your imaginary creature would wear glasses or goggles. (Answer: goggles are cooler but glasses are more relatable.)
Personal Ranking of Features
1. Color wheel for skin tone: 10/10 (inclusive! sort of!)
2. The tiny bow tie option: 8/10 (dapper)
3. "Wings" that look more like floating shapes: 6/10 (ambitious)
4. Lack of undo button: 3/10 (I accidentally gave my Sprunki clown hair and had to start over)
Will I use this to design characters for a Sprunki fanfic? No comment.
Will I probably make 3 more while on hold with customer service later? Absolutely.
Final verdict: Not what I expected, but a pleasant surprise. Like when you order coffee and get a free cookie. The cookie doesn't replace the coffee, but it's a nice addition.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to design a Sprunki that represents "the feeling when your WiFi drops." Gray colors, confused expression, maybe a little cloud over its head...
