Pyramixed 0.95 But Someone Tweaked It
You know Pyramixed 0.9, right? Big mod, lots of sounds, that whole thing. Well apparently someone wasn't satisfied and made "0.95 but edited." Which raises so many questions. Edited how? By who? Why not just call it 0.96? Or 0.95.1? Internet naming conventions, man.
Anyway, I've been clicking around in this for a bit and... it's definitely Pyramixed. But also... not?

First Impressions: What's Different?
The colors are... brighter? Or maybe more saturated. The UI looks the same but some icons are in different places. There's a new category tab that just says "EXTRA" which is helpful and not helpful at the same time.
Sound quality seems... cleaner? Or maybe my headphones are just dirty. I should clean my headphones.

The "But Edited" Part
Okay so after playing with the original 0.9 and this side by side (yes, I had two tabs open, don't judge me), here's what I think changed:
• Some sounds are louder. The bass hits harder. The highs are... higher?
• There's definitely new sounds in the "EXTRA" section. One sounds like a distorted guitar but could also be a dying robot. Hard to tell.
• The timing feels tighter. Or maybe that's placebo. I'm not a rhythm expert, I just know when something feels "off" and this feels... "on"?
• Visual feedback is more pronounced. When you activate a sound, the icon does a little bounce. Cute.
But also... some things might be missing? I swear there was a specific snare sound in 0.9 that I can't find here. Or maybe it's renamed. Or maybe I'm imagining it.
How to Actually Play This Thing
If you've played Pyramixed before: Just play it like normal. You'll notice differences as you go.
If you haven't: Start with the left column. Always start with the left column. Build a basic beat. Then add melody stuff from the middle. Then add the weird effects from the right. The "EXTRA" section... use sparingly. It's like hot sauce - a little adds flavor, too much ruins everything.

Personal Experience: The Good and The "Huh?"
The Good: The edited version fixes some of the balance issues from 0.9. Sounds that were too quiet are now audible. Sounds that clipped don't clip (as much). It feels more... polished? But in a fan-made way.
The "Huh?": Some changes feel arbitrary. Why is the green icon now orange? Why did they move the reset button? Why add a new sound that's just a slightly different version of an existing one?
The "I Miss It": That snare I mentioned. If it's really gone, that's a tragedy. It had character. The new snare is fine. But fine isn't character.
My cat is sitting on my keyboard as I write this. She prefers the original 0.9. Or maybe she just wants food. Hard to tell with cats.
Questions I Had While Playing
Q: Is this officially an update to 0.9?
A> No idea. Feels like a fan project. The "but edited" in the title suggests it's not claiming to be official. Which is honest, I guess.
Q: Should I play this instead of 0.9?
A> If you're new to Pyramixed, start with 0.9. Then try this. See which you prefer. If you've played 0.9 to death, this might feel fresh for like, 20 minutes.
Q: What's with the "EXTRA" sounds?
A> Some are good. Some are... experiments. There's one that's just white noise with a filter on it. Revolutionary? No. Interesting? For about 3 seconds.

Making Actual Music With This
I tried to recreate a track I made in 0.9. Got about 80% there. The missing 20% is either because sounds are different, or I'm misremembering, or both. The result was... similar but not the same. Like hearing a cover of a song that's almost right but the singer changes one note.
Annoying? A little. Interesting? Also a little.
It's raining outside as I finish this. The pitter-patter kinda syncs up with the hi-hat sound from the game if I imagine hard enough. Maybe that means something. Probably not.
Final Thoughts (Such As They Are)
This feels like when someone remixes a song you like. Sometimes it's better. Sometimes it's worse. Sometimes it's just... different. This is in the "different" category.
Worth playing if:
- You've exhausted 0.9
- You like seeing what fans can mod
- You don't mind minor inconsistencies
Skip if:
- You're new to Pyramixed (start with 0.9)
- You want the "definitive" version (this isn't claiming to be)
- You hate change (seriously, some people really hate change)
Me? I'll probably play it once more to try the EXTRA sounds properly. Then go back to 0.9. Or try something completely different. There's like a hundred Sprunki mods out there. What's one more?
Edition quality: 7/10 for effort, 6/10 for execution
Would I recommend: To hardcore fans only
Likelihood I remember this exists in a month: Low, unless that one EXTRA sound gets stuck in my head
Anyway. That's enough typing. My cat is still on my keyboard. I should probably feed her. And clean my headphones. And maybe play some actual music for a change.
