Sprunki Phase 1.75 Canon Edition
So I Finally Tried That Sprunki Phase 1.75 Thing Everyone''s Talking About
Okay so my friend Dave, who usually only sends me cat videos, suddenly dropped a link in our group chat last Tuesday saying "this is the most addictive stupid thing I''ve found since that cookie clicker game in 2014." And you know what? He wasn''t wrong. I ended up wasting like, 45 minutes of what was supposed to be a productive afternoon just dragging little dudes around.
It''s basically that same Incredibox-style thing where you drag icons onto slots and they make sounds that loop. But this "Canon Edition" (whatever that means) has this one character – the purple one with what looks like a weird hat – that makes this glitchy click sound that reminds me of my old dishwasher just before it completely died last winter. Not that that''s a bad thing? Somehow it works in the mix.
Honestly, the hardest part for me was figuring out what order to put them in. Like, does it even matter? I tried the green rocket-looking one first a few times and everything sounded… frantic. Then I put the blue droplet dude first and suddenly it was all chill. Weird.
If You''re Wondering How to Actually Start
Just click on an icon from the bottom. Drag it up to an empty slot – there are seven I think? (I never actually counted properly, I was too busy clicking). Wait for the loop to start. Then add another. That''s literally it. The magic (or chaos) happens when you start swapping them around while they''re playing.
I saw someone on Reddit say this version is "cleaner" than the original Sprunki Phase 1. Not sure I agree. It''s just… different. Some sounds are sharper. The yellow triangle thing makes a noise that my brain insists is a digital frog. Don''t ask.
What I Could Never Figure Out
Is there a way to save what you make? Or is it just a temporary thing you listen to and then close the tab like a digital sandcastle? I couldn''t find a button. Maybe I missed it. If you know, please don''t tell me, I''ve moved on.
Also, what exactly makes it "Canon"? Is there a story? Are these little characters part of some grand Sprunki lore I''m too casual to understand? The internet is surprisingly quiet on this.
Oh and one more thing – that grey character in the middle? The one that looks kinda bored? His sound is deceptively simple. But if you add him like, third or fourth, he somehow ties everything together. Or ruins it. It''s a fine line.
Would I play it again? Probably next time I''m on a boring Zoom call and need to look like I''m doing something with my mouse. 3.5 out of 5 stars, mostly because it loaded fast and didn''t crash my browser.
— Written while listening to a loop I made that accidentally sounds like a broken elevator. Might keep it on as background noise.
