Pen Platformer: A Creative Drawing-Based Platformer

Pen Platformer redefines the platforming genre by putting the level design power directly in your hands. Instead of just jumping, you actively build your path by drawing platforms with a virtual pen. This innovative Scratch project offers a fresh challenge where creativity and quick thinking are just as important as precise jumping.

Core Gameplay and Drawing Mechanics

The primary mechanic is the pen drawing system. By clicking the pen icon in the top-left corner, you enter Paint Mode, allowing you to drag your mouse or finger to create solid platforms on the screen. This allows you to bridge gaps, create stairs, or block hazards. Your drawing ability is tied to an ink gauge at the top of the screen; once it runs out, you must plan your platforms carefully. Made an error? The eraser button clears all custom-drawn platforms at once, giving you a blank canvas to try a new strategy.

Controls and Navigation

Movement: Use the WASD keys to move your character. These controls are also optimized for touchscreen tap inputs.
Resetting: If you fall or get stuck, simply press the Start button to instantly respawn at the initial position without resetting your drawn platforms.

Game Background and Credits

This title is a re-imagined share of the developer's previous work, inspired by similar community projects. The robust platformer physics are powered by @kaimini44's Platformer Maker Kit. The celebratory confetti effects are credited to @higenoKO-TYO-, and the music is a custom-tuned BGM from the developer's archives. While the creator found the game challenging, they assure players it provides a fair and enjoyable difficulty curve.
