SNES-style Mega Man X Engine with Double Jump

This test project rebuilds the classic SNES Mega Man X engine with modern enhancements. Wall climbing is replaced by a double jump system, maintaining the original vertical mobility while offering a different rhythm of platforming. All core sprites and sound effects are from Capcom originals, with additional sprite work by LuckasOliver and resources from Spriters Resource & Sprites Inc. Background music is sourced from Mega Man X5 and the fan project Mega Man X Corrupted.

Precise Controls & Combat Mechanics

Movement: Arrow keys or WASD for running and jumping
Ranged attack: Spacebar fires your blaster
Dash: Press C or M to perform ground dash, essential for momentum
Double jump: Press Up or W while airborne — replaces traditional wall jump
Performance mode: Press P to toggle low-lag mode for smoother play on slower devices
Mobile: Full touchscreen support included

There is no strict objective or level progression requirement. You are free to explore the scrolling environment, make your way through the stage, and challenge the end-level boss. This is a feature showcase, not a full campaign — ideal for testing engine behavior or simply enjoying classic run-and-gun movement in a browser.
