sprunki phase 2.7 remake
Honestly? I Use This To Zone Out Before Bed
It's 11 PM. My brain is still buzzing from the day. I should be sleeping but I'm scrolling on my phone like a zombie. Then I remember this exists – Sprunki Phase 2.7 Remake.
It's not exciting. It's not meant to be. It's... comforting. Like a digital weighted blanket for your ears.
Why This Version For Relaxing?
Look, I've tried the other phases. Phase 1 is too basic. Phase 3 has those jarring laser sounds. Phase 4 and up are just noise (in a bad way).
But Phase 2.7? Specifically the remake? The sounds are... softer. Rounder. Less aggressive. There's a blue character that makes this gentle "whoosh" that actually sounds like wind. Or like... distant traffic? In a good way.
Q: Can it be used for meditation/relaxation audio?
A: Yes. More than any other version I've tried. There's no sudden loud noises (unless you deliberately create them, you monster).
Q: Rhythm training?
A: I mean, maybe? But that's not why I use it. I use it to turn my brain OFF, not train it.
The "Weird But Calming" Combo
Okay so this is going to sound strange, but: green circle + purple triangle + the grey... blob thing? Arranged in a triangle pattern on the screen (not lined up).
It creates this pulsing, breathing sound. Like mechanical lungs. Or a very content robot sleeping.
I have no idea why it works. It just does. I've fallen asleep to this combo more times than I'd like to admit.
Background Noise That Doesn't Annoy You
Here's the thing about "background music" apps – they either get repetitive fast or have these annoying melodies that burrow into your brain.
With this? You make it. So if it gets annoying, it's YOUR fault. Which is somehow less frustrating?
Plus, you can adjust it. Too much high frequency? Remove the tinkly character. Need more bass? Add the deep humming one. It's like... customizable atmosphere.
Yesterday I made a loop that sounded like a spaceship engine idling. Today I made one that sounds like rain on a tin roof (kind of). Tomorrow? Who knows.
My Pre-Sleep Ritual
1. Open Sprunki Phase 2.7
2. Drag up 3-4 characters randomly
3. Listen for a minute
4. Swap one out if it doesn't "feel" right
5. Let it loop
6. Close my eyes
7. ...
8. Wake up 7 hours later with my phone dead
It's not fancy. But it works better than counting sheep or whatever people are supposed to do.
Weird Thing I Noticed About The "Remake"
The colors are different from what I remember of the original Phase 2. Muted. Less neon. More pastel.
Or maybe my memory is wrong. It's been a while. But the current color scheme – lots of blues and purples with soft greens – feels intentionally calming. Like someone said "let's make this visually relaxing too."
Actually, I just looked it up (by which I mean I spent 30 seconds Googling before getting distracted). The remake apparently updated the visual design to be "less stimulating for evening use." No idea if that's true or marketing nonsense, but it feels true.
Not For Making "Music"
Let's be clear: if you want to make an actual song, go play Phase 3 or one of the later ones. Or get actual music software.
This is for making SOUNDSCAPES. Atmospheres. Audio environments.
It's the difference between painting a detailed landscape versus just blending colors on a canvas to create a mood. Both are valid, but they're different goals.
I tried to explain this to my partner and they said "so it's fancy white noise?" and I got offended but also... yes. Kinda. But fancy!
The 2 AM Experiment
Couldn't sleep last night. 2 AM brain. Decided to see how "weird" I could make the sounds while keeping them calming.
Result: orange square + blue wave + green dot, but with the green dot dragged REALLY slowly so it makes this elongated, droning tone.
It sounded like a didgeridoo being played by a ghost. Spooky but soothing. Like Halloween ASMR.
I saved it. I'll probably use it in October.
Honest Rating
As a game? 6/10. Not enough "game" in it.
As a relaxation tool? 8.5/10. Minus 1.5 because sometimes I get too into perfecting the sound and defeat the purpose of relaxing.
But when it works? It really works. My sleep tracker says I fall asleep faster on nights I use this. Could be placebo. Don't care. Works for me.
Try it when you're stressed. Or trying to focus. Or just want something in the background that isn't silence but also isn't demanding your attention.
It's digital ambient. Audio wallpaper. And sometimes, that's exactly what you need.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go adjust my "mechanical forest at dusk" loop. The purple character is slightly too loud...
