Sprunki 2P: Chaos, Collaboration, and That One Annoying Sound
Okay, so you know Sprunki, right? The clicky-draggy thing where you make weird little beats. Well, someone had the brilliant/terrible idea to make it for two people. At the same time. On the same screen.
Let's be clear: this isn't a "professional music creation tool". It's the digital equivalent of handing two kids a box of kitchen utensils and telling them to make a "song". The result is usually glorious, stupid noise.
My friend Dave and I tried it last weekend. We were aiming for something funky. What we got sounded more like a robot having a stomach ache while someone vacuumed in the background. We couldn't stop laughing. Dave is obsessed with the little trumpet icon – he keeps spamming it until I want to mute my speakers.
How It (Kinda) Works
The screen is basically split. You each get your own set of slots or whatever they're called. You can drag your icons, your friend drags theirs. The sounds all play together. Sometimes they mesh into something oddly rhythmic. Most of the time it's just… a lot.
It's perfect for when you're bored on a call or hanging out online and don't know what to do. "Hey, wanna mess with Sprunki 2P?" It's an activity. A very low-stakes, silly one.
The Real "Game"
There's no score. No win condition. The "game" is basically:
- Try to make something cool together (fail).
- Try to annoy your friend by sabotaging their chill vibe with the most jarring sound you can find (succeed).
- Laugh at the abomination you've created.
Is it deep? No. Is it a memorable way to waste 15 minutes with someone? Absolutely. It reminds me of those old flash games you'd play in school computer labs when the teacher wasn't looking – pure, simple, pointless fun.
I personally think the green "sproing" noise is overrated. Fight me.
I'm not sure who's updating these mods or if this one will even exist next year. But for now, if you've got a friend and a browser, give it a shot. Just don't expect to make a hit song. Expect to make a memory, probably of confusion and laughter.
Side note: Is it just me, or does one of the bass sounds vaguely like a duck? Maybe my audio is messed up.
