Rotating Gravity Platformer Engine (V3) - Inspired by Super Mario Galaxy

This web-based platformer simulates planetary gravity where the character's orientation shifts based on surface position. Version 3 (17 Sept 2013) introduces a massive internal overhaul: real-time color collision detection has been replaced with a pre-cached lookup matrix using two levels of detail. This optimization significantly reduces lag and enables off-screen AI processing.

Core Mechanics & Gravity System

Dynamic Gravitational Fields: Gravity is not limited to planet centers. Specific world areas contain directional fields altering pull strength and angle.
Player Sprite Rotation: Character sprite visually rotates in real-time to align with current gravity direction.
Cursor Key Control: Move and jump using standard arrow keys. Physics responsiveness is optimized for non-fullscreen play.

AI Characters & World Interaction

Two AI Companions: One follower AI that trails the player, and one wanderer AI that explores independently.
Off-Screen Processing: Engine architecture allows AI and enemy activity outside the current viewport without performance loss.

Technical Development Notes

Originally developed to demonstrate rotating level mechanics requested by @Oui1024, this prototype evolves into a functional Mario Galaxy-style engine. The collision lookup matrix pre-calculates entire level data, balancing speed and memory via two LOD systems.
