Pixl 2.2: Competitive 2D Platform Shooter (Two Keyboards Required)

Pixl 2.2 is a competitive 2D platform shooter designed for local multiplayer, drawing inspiration from Super Smash Bros and Awesomenauts. Due to keyboard ghosting issues, the game requires two physical USB keyboards for proper dual-player input.

Controls & Modes

Player 1 uses WASD to move, JL to aim, K to fire, and Space for a burst move. Player 2 utilizes Arrow Keys for movement, UO for aiming, I to fire, and G for burst. Extensive version history has refined the experience. Version 2.0 introduced a new UI and reduced shot active time to 0.08 seconds with a cooldown of 1.18 seconds. A major addition in 2.0 is "Virus Tag" mode, where a randomly infected player must shoot opponents to pass the virus; each player's timer counts down to zero when infected.

Maps & Physics

Map updates include the "Factory" map with jump pads, and adjustments to "Beach" for consistent wall jumps. Physics have been tuned, with wall jump values now at 6 horizontal and 11 vertical units.
